Welcome to The Queen's Club
Toronto's Oldest Indoor Tennis Club
The Queen’s Club aims to deliver excellent indoor experiences for the tennis enthusiast.
Our mission is to foster a community of people with a shared love for tennis, provide top quality playing conditions in a congenial environment, and offer excellent tennis services for our membership.
The primary visionary behind the club was Sydney Hermant. In 1957, he and his associates realized their shared dream by purchasing the Dupont St. property from the Toronto Skating Club and transforming it into a non-profit, indoor tennis club with one court, on the former ice rink surface. To mark Canada’s centennial, a second court was added in 1967.
The Queen’s Club is one of the premier indoor tennis clubs in Canada and occupies a prominent place in Toronto’s history as its first indoor tennis club.
For the Love of the Game
While there have been improvements and upgrades over the years, the traditions such as member key entry, the honour system for paying for food, beverages and equipment, and the wearing of white tennis attire, remain. Most importantly, the values of honesty, respect and fair play espoused by the founders continue to underpin the club’s spirit. This special quality of the Queen’s Club attracts people who love the game for its own sake.
